PAMAS SLATE PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

• Pamas Slate is a fine grained metamorphic stone quarried from different parts of the world; Brazil, China, India, Africa, USA
• The geological process varies therefore slates range in hardness and porosity

THE ENVIRONMENT AND AIR QUALITY

• Pamas Slate has no VOC’s  (Volatile Organic Compounds) or Off-Gassing
• Most varieties of Slate have a low moisture absorption - Does not harbor bacteria
• Slate is a natural heat conductor:  Absorbs and retains warmth in the winter, stays cool and comfortable in the summer. Appropriate for low energy houses
• Pamas supplies water based and Zero VOC Sealers

DURABILITY AND LONGEVITY

• Slate is extremely long wearing, walk on it for generations
• Ensures no replacement as a proper installation should be intact for hundreds of years

CONSTRUCTION WASTE MANAGEMENT

• Pamas will pick up all off-cuts and wastage from LEED Job-Sites to Recycle
• Documentation is available

MAPEI – TILE AND STONE INSTALLATION SYSTEMS

• The Mapei Environmental Symbol ensures products to be solvent-free, non-flammable, extremely low TVOC (Total Volatile Organic Compounds), and low-odor
• All cementeous grouts and thinsets are plasticizer free
• Ultramastic ECO and Kerapoxy are plasticizer free (these are in compliance with U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED VOC requirements)
• Each product has an individual Material Safety Data Sheet for specific VOC information

AQUAMIX – STONE CARE AND MAINTENANCE

• No VOC’s
• Water based formulas and solutions are available
• Non-toxic and non-flammable materials available
